42CrMo4 alloy quenched steel, also known as 4140 steel or 1.7225 steel, is a common chromium-molybdenum steel with high density, and high hardenability, usually used after tempering.4140 steel has higher strength and hardenability in terms of its properties. The properties of AISI 4140 steel include high strength and good low-temperature impact toughness. Therefore, its machinability is high.
4140 (42CrMo4) alloy steel is widely used for engineering steel purposes, such as various machinery, automobile, mining spare part, gear wheel of engines, drive gears of superchargers, connecting rods, parts for powertrain applications, cold formed fasteners, it is frequently used in areas such as shafts, gears, oil exploration works.
