PE 500 HMWPE is high molecular weight polyethylene with an average molecular mass of approx. 500 g/mol and a maximum density of 0.96 g/cm³. Its excellent mechanical properties, such as scratch and cutting resistance and resistance to acids and alkalis, together with its good sliding properties, make it a material that is ideal for machining. Whether drilling, milling, sawing, cutting or laser cutting: Numerous processing techniques can be used with this plastic. Very good impact strength, high shock and impact absorption and pronounced rigidity are further positive properties of this plastic, which enjoys great popularity in numerous industries due to its many advantages. It is used, among other things, in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the construction and paper industries. It should also be emphasized that PE 500 has virtually no moisture absorption and is food-safe and physiologically harmless. All in all, this is a high-quality engineering plastic that is often superior to other plastics.
