301 is an austenitic stainless steel containing higher amount of Carbon and lower Nickel contents than 304 and 304L. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment but can be strengthened through cold deformation in which its austenitic structure rapidly transforms into ferromagnetic alpha ferrite. It has similar corrosion resistance to 304/304L, although this can decrease with cold working.
Stainless, non-magnetic spring steel with high carbon content with good ductility delivered in the form of cold rolled tapes, sheets, drawn wires and drawn bars.Designed for springs, spring washers, ropes, flexible connectors, fasteners, aerial parts and other components used in the chemical and food industries such as pump parts, acid tanks, or high temperature springs. It is used in the food, fruit and vegetable and chemical industries in nitrogen plants for valves, parts of fittings and pumps, the coal industry and the petrochemical industry. Other applications include distillation boilers, agitators, acid tanks, heat exchangers, absorption towers, and pipelines.
