1.2210 is a chromium vanadium alloy cold working steel commonly used in building parts. The cutting machinability of 1.2210 is good. This steel has excellent toughness and wear resistance. 1.2210 The material is difficult to weld and has average corrosion resistance. Polishing materials are not common, and material 1.2210 can harden well. 1.2210, also known as silver steel, has a tensile strength of 700-740.
Applications
Due to its properties, 1.2210 tool steel is commonly used for small turned parts, core pins, punches, and engraving tools. It is also favored for applications requiring polishing, etching, EDM, nitriding, and hard chroming.
